Make the workplace fit your week.

Check the journey as part of the role

• Find the advertised workplace, rather than assuming the employer’s head office is the worksite.
• Check the actual shift start and finish against your available transport.
• Ask about travel between sites, roster changes and any work-from-home arrangement.
• Consider the full weekly cost and time of commuting before comparing two offers.

Show local knowledge where it helps

Explain relevant knowledge of a place, customer group or service using a concrete example. Living nearby does not establish your qualifications, work rights or suitability. Read the same essential requirements and application instructions as other candidates.

• Browse places
• Compare current jobs
• Prepare an application

Ask for support when the search needs a reset

If transport, hours, training or career direction make the options unclear, take those constraints to the Bendigo Skills and Jobs Centre. Its official page describes independent career and pathway advice.
