Architecture pay: compare the work behind the number.
A practical checklist for assessing a architecture offer.
Define the role before comparing pay
- Distinguish graduate of architecture, registered architect, draftsperson and project-lead work.
- Ask about documentation, client contact, site visits, project responsibility and additional hours.
- Confirm registration requirements, the supervision offered and any support for professional development.
Check the package and the minimum
Check the employer’s use of “architect” and any registration requirement against ARBV guidance. Compare like-for-like responsibility; do not relabel a national occupation figure as a Bendigo rate.
Ask for the base amount, superannuation treatment, ordinary hours and other payments in writing. Use Fair Work for award coverage and classification before using a general occupation comparison.
Use independent occupation context
Follow the occupation source below and read its date and geographic scope. Several JSA legacy ANZSCO profiles are no longer updated. Use current Atlas data where available; none of these sources is a BendigoJobs local salary survey.
