Compare two jobs: pay, travel and your week.

What would each opportunity mean for your week?
Put the cash pay, travel time and direct costs side by side. Use facts from the two offers and your own travel estimates. Your entries stay in this page’s memory and are not sent to a model or server.
The example is an arithmetic illustration, not a local salary estimate or a real vacancy.
Manual comparison
Hourly cash rate × paid weekly hours gives weekly gross cash. A confirmed annual cash salary ÷ 52 gives an average week. For an hourly role, annualise only with your entered paid weeks; casual work may vary.
Car fuel = round-trip km × on-site days × litres per 100 km ÷ 100 × price per litre. Add confirmed parking and tolls. A fare-based journey uses your entered return fare × on-site days. Travel minutes are round-trip minutes × on-site days.
Direct car costs exclude servicing, tyres, insurance, registration, finance and depreciation. A package including super needs a confirmed cash split. Commuting costs here are personal planning assumptions, not a claim for a tax deduction.

A clear comparison starts with the facts you know and the questions you still need to ask.
Compare the same pay basis
Confirm cash pay, ordinary paid hours and whether superannuation is extra. An inclusive package is not the same thing as cash salary.
- Ask which hours or shifts are guaranteed.
- Keep allowances, overtime and variable hours separate until confirmed.
Keep the wider fit in view
Use the comparison to prepare your questions, then check the duties, work location, shift times, development and support. A higher rate alone does not decide which role fits your life.
- Ask the employer to confirm the workplace and attendance pattern.
- Review the full official ad and keep your application receipt.
