Bendigo council jobs: a document checklist

Show how your experience could contribute to the community you want to work in. Use the City of Greater Bendigo’s instructions to prepare a focused application with a clear purpose for each document.

Confirm the documents for this vacancy

The City’s recruitment guidance identifies a cover letter and current résumé as mandatory. A separate response to key selection criteria is required when the advertisement specifies one. Check the individual role’s instructions so you prepare the correct package.

Use the City employer profile to reach the source. Record the exact role title, closing date, nominated contact and application destination. Avoid relying on a copied advertisement when the official page has changed.

Map each requirement to your own evidence

Make a small worksheet with a row for each essential requirement. Add a relevant example, the part you personally played and the result you can support. Mark gaps as questions rather than filling them with invented experience.

If a separate criteria document is requested, use clear headings that follow the stated criteria. A reader should be able to find your response without searching through an unrelated letter. Explain your own contribution when describing a team project.

The résumé checklist helps you keep employment dates, qualifications and contact information consistent across the documents.

Give each document a clear purpose

Use the cover letter to explain your interest and the most relevant experience. Use the résumé to show your factual work and education history. Use a separate criteria response, where requested, to address those requirements directly.

Before uploading, open every file. Check that it is complete, readable and named clearly. Remove an older draft from the upload selection if you have replaced it.

Submit and keep the confirmation

Apply through the official route before the stated deadline. The City explains that applicants should receive a confirmation email and gives guidance for contacting recruitment if it does not arrive. Follow the current instructions on its website.

Prepare for any later conversation using the same genuine examples you supplied in your application. Record invitations and decisions separately from the original receipt.

BendigoJobs has no hiring partnership with the City. Find its current opportunities and other local jobs, then make your own application decision.
